Gurcharan Singh, 84, an area resident since 1999, died peacefully at his home on December 30, 2022.

Born in India on March 15, 1938, he was the son of Kartar Singh and Jasmail Kaur. He had been employed as an accountant for the government of India. He was a member of the Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Foundation in Norwalk, CT. He was a very religious man who enjoyed studying other religions.

Gurcharan is survived by his wife Jaswant Kaur; his children, Amarjit Kaur , Harjit Dhaliwal, Pargat Dhaliwal, Manjinder Gerwal, and Inderjit Singh Dhaliwal; his siblings, Dr. Kuldeep Dhaliwal and Parmjit K Deol; and ten grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday from 10am -12pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The procession will follow to the Wiltwyck Crematory . On Saturday, January 14, final rites will be held from 12-3pm at the Gurudwara. 274 Ketchamtown Road, Wappingers Falls.
