Obituary

Hans "Ron" Rauschenbach passed away peacefully at the family home he built on August 2nd, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 7th, 1941 in Leipzig, Germany to the late Willi and Charlotte (Weise) Rauschenbach. On September 26th, 1965 in Brooklyn, NY, he married his beloved wife Margaret "Peggy" (Gericke) Rauschenbach. Peggy survives at home in Poughquag.

Ron was self-employed as a Contractor for many years, owning P & R General Contracting and creating and improving homes for families in the area. He loved doing carpentry work and spent a great deal of time creating in his workshop downstairs. In his spare time, he loved listening to music, especially classical music, eating all kinds of delicious foods, and spending time at home with his family. He loved being Opa to his grandchildren Lauren and Ryan; Ron would light up each time he saw them.

In addition to his wife Peggy, Ron is survived by his three children: Ronald Rauschenbach and his wife Dina, John Rauschenbach and his partner Dawn Mackenzie, and Jeannie Newman and her husband Bill; his two grandchildren: Lauren and Ryan Newman. He is also survived by his brother Peter Rauschenbach and his wife Margaret; his niece Tina Spiliotis(John) and nephew Eric Rauschenbach. He was also a proud brother in law to Don and Patricia Davison and their children Don (Teresa) Davison, Michael Davison (Christine) and Susan Viserto (Neil), and to Mary Gericke. Ron's love for his family was incomparable.

He was predeceased by his nieces, Michelle Rauschenbach and Mary Catherine Davison.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY.
