FISHKILL-Harry T. Dawson, 82, a resident of Fishkill for the past 19 years and formerly of Brooklyn, died on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at home.
Born in Brooklyn on February 28, 1930, he was the son of the late John Henry and Wilhelmina (Andre) Dawson. On April 11, 1953 in Brooklyn, Harry married Edith Christ who survives at home.
He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Harry was employed as Vice President at Dime Savings Bank in Brooklyn. He retired in 1982 after 30 years of service to the bank.
Harry was a parishioner at St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Brooklyn and was an avid golfer.
In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by his children, Michael Dawson and his wife Judith of Wappingers Falls, Kathryn Sheridan and her husband Thomas of Brooklyn, Elaine Konunchuk and her husband Peter of Hopewell Junction, Jane Riale and her husband Nicholas of Hopewell Junction, Irene Arocho and her husband Louis of Poughquag, and Ann Carbone and her husband Anthony of Hopewell Junction; his 22 grandchildren, Katie, Sarah, Kelly, Jeannine, Andrew, Audrey, Melissa, Suzanne, Amanda, Jason, Dmitry, Michelle, Thomas, James, Stephanie, Tabatha, Louis, Christopher, Lyndsay, Kimberly, Lauren, and Alyssa; and his 7 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, Madelyn, Payton, Noah, Raven, and Hannah.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery with military honors.
