Obituary

Hector Luis Santiago, 83, a resident of Peekskill and formerly of Manhattan, died on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Hudson Valley Hospital Center.
Born in Penuelas, Puerto Rico, Macho was the son of Juan Santiago and Dolores Pacheco. He was raised in Ponce. Macho served our country in the US Army and was employed as a butcher at the Old Homestead Restaurant in Manhattan.
Macho was predeceased by his wife, Isolina Olan Santiago; his sons, Edwin, Hector and Benny Santiago; and his siblings, Pedro Juan Santiago, Zenida Colon, Lou Maria Garcia and Oliva Perez.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Kathleen and Walter Astacio of Fishkill, Judy Santiago of FL, Hector Santiago of Brooklyn, Rosie Ocasio of the Bronx, Melvin Santiago of CT, Antoinette and Greg Darandiara of Long Island, Peter and Maryann Santiago of Staten Island and Inez and Jose Marrero of Staten Island; his grandchildren, Jonathan Astacio of Fishkill, Nyra and Teddy Torres of Fishkill, and Taisha Santiago of Bronx; his great-grandchildren, Jaela Torres, Alex, Alisha, Taniya and Prinze; and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
