Helen Borowitz, 91, a resident of Fishkill and formerly of Yonkers, died on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at her home.
Born in Yonkers on August 29, 1919, she was the daughter of Michael and Anna Kimetz Vancak. She was employed by Gimbels Department Store in Yonkers until her retirement.
On September 18, 1940, Helen married Michael Borowitz who died in 1996. She is survived by her son, Michael R. Borowitz; her daughter, Carole Sadlon and her husband Steve; and her granddaughters, Rebecca Borowitz, Rachel Borowitz and her son Dominick, Allison Thrasher and her two children and Cheryl Sadlon.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10 am at the funeral home followed by interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson.
