Helen C. Brooks, 96, a resident of Ridgefield, CT for the past 5 years and formerly of Topton, PA, Southbury, CT and Scarsdale, died on Monday, July 11, at Danbury Hospital.

Born in Wilkensburg, PA on July 31, 1914, she was the daughter of Clyde and Hulda McQuiston Campbell. She worked as a Dental Receptionist for her husband, Dr. Joseph John Brooks, D.D.S. who predeceased her in 1984.

She loved to play scrabble and solve Jumble puzzles in the newspaper. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she loved spending time with her family most of all.

She is survived by her children, Dennis C. and Susan Brooks, Joyce B. and Jim Moroney, and Karen B. Taft; her grandchildren, Christine Brooks, Geoffrey and Helena Brooks, James and Carlin Moroney, Kevin and Molly Moroney, Andrew and Michelle Moroney, and David, Scott, and Michael Taft; and her great-grandchildren, Ellen Hannah, and Katie Moroney, Mackenzie. Kyleigh, and Kendall Moroney, and Callan and Taylor Moroney. She was pre-deceased by her sister, Grace Haskell.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A private Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-On-Hudson.
