Helen P. Foster, 83, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 2000 and formerly of New Paltz, Verplanck and New York City, died on Friday, November 5, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Born in New York City on September 4, 1927, she was the daughter of William and Padeskeva Kunchik Proulx. Working throughout her life, she last worked at General Splice Corp. in Croton-on-Hudson as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1990. She had also worked for General Electric and Standard Coated. Helen enjoyed needlepoint work, cross stitching, crocheting and reading mystery books.
Helen was predeceased by her husband William W. Foster in 1990, her son Bruce Foster in 1980, her son-in-law Patrick Drugan in 2002 and her loving "auntie" Paulina Kunchik in 1974. She is survived by her daughter, Diana Drugan of Hopewell Junction; her daughter-in-law, Adrienne Pietras and her husband Mark of New Windsor; her grandchildren, Richard and Vera Farfaro of Wappingers Falls, Thomas and Nancy Drugan of Poughkeepsie, Sabrina Foster of Maybrook and Michael, Matthew and Timothy; her great-grandchildren, Kyle Drugan, Sean, Sabrina and Stephen Farfaro, Amanda Chase, Sarah and Nicole Drugan, Michael, Lucas, Mia and Jacob; and her great, great-grandson, Brandon.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Verplanck with Rev. John Young officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
