FISHKILL – Helen E. Gavin, 94, died on July 29, 2019 at her daughter’s home. She previously lived in Manhattan.

Born in Shenandoah, PA on August 19, 1924, Helen was the daughter of the late Stephen and Florence (May) Volovar.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Carroll and her husband William G. of Wappingers Falls; her grandsons, William J. Carroll and his wife Sylvia, James Carroll, and Shawn Carroll and his fiancée Kapri Conley; her 6 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Dorothy DeVito and her husband Joseph. She was predeceased by her husband, James Gavin, in 2006.

Helen will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to cook, especially for her family!

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10 am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
