Helen A. Komornik, a lifelong local area resident, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Elant at Fishkill. She was 98.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Stefura) Bialko, she was born in Beacon on August 12, 1918.
On March 9, 1943, she married Matthew J. Komornik who predeceased her on October 6, 1988.
Helen is survived by one daughter, Helen M. Zeyak of Beacon; two grandchildren, Brian Zeyak (Miki) of Cary, NC and Lisa Sandford (James) of Penn Jan, NY; and four great-grandchildren, Matthew & Mayumi Zeyak and James & Edward Sandford.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Margaret Pfanne, Josephine Ketcham, and Katherine Risole as well as one brother, Joseph Bialko.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 6, at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Burial will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
