Obituary

Helen L. Yanarella Lamoree, 94, died on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at home in the Poconos where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Charles "Chuck" Miller.

Born in Beacon on May 10, 1916, she was the daughter of William and Nellie Lockwood King. On May 17, 1936, she married James J. Yanarella who predeceased her on May 26, 1961. She married Thomas Lamoree at St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction on February 18, 1989. He predeceased her on March 10, 2008. She was also predeceased by two sons, James A. Yanarella and Joseph L. Yanarella; and four brothers, Alfred, William, Jack and Charles King.

In addition to Carol Ann and Chuck Miller, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and David Gorey of Beacon, NY; her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Lance Crawford of East Aurora NY, her stepson and his wife, John and Mary Lamoree of Myrtle Beach SC; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Helen was a member of Court Liberata, Catholic Daughters of America. Recently, she enjoyed knitting, reading, playing cards and going to the casino. Most of all, she enjoyed and loved her family and friends.

Calling hours will be on Monday from 4:00 to 8 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00a.m. at St. Denis Church. Interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
