EAST FISHKILL – Helen Marinelli, 75, beloved wife and mother, passed peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Newburgh on Tuesday, January 13, 2015.

A Dutchess County resident since 1977, she was born in the Yorkville section of Manhattan on July 21, 1939, the daughter of George and Marie Stumpf. She held the position of supervisor at the Ruben H. Donnelly Corp., leaving the company after 10 years to raise her daughter at home.

She once served as treasurer of the Hillside Lake Property Owner's Association. She loved gardening and tending to her many plants and flowers. She was an avid reader and loved cooking a variety of meals. She was also very good at solving Sudoku puzzles.

Helen is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry, and her daughter, Cindy. Survivors also include her sister-in-law, Helen Lay; her nieces, Patricia Palapoli and Cathy Harman; her grand nieces, Kristin, Nicole, Jean, and Diane; her nephews, Dennis and Donald, Jr.; her cousin, Paul McKeon; her cousins-in-law, Marianne McKeon and William Dunn; her best friend, Arlene Marshall; and her good friends, Lynore Huffman, Mary Destefano, and Jean Homan. Helen is predeceased b her brothers, Richard and Donald Lay and her sister, Evelyn Frank.
