Stormville- Helene Shultis, a longtime resident of Stormville, NY, passed away on September 18, 2021. She was 84.

Helene was born on December 12, 1936, in South Montrose, PA, the daughter of Albert and Mildred Hughes.

For many years, Helene worked as a Gym Teacher at the George Fisher Middle School in Carmel, NY, enriching the lives of thousands of students who crossed her path. Helene was a member of the Fishkill Baptist Church, a past member of the Hopewell Hose Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed making candy and jams.

On March 28, 1970, Helene married Steve Shultis at the 2nd Baptist Church in Kent, NY. He survives at home. In addition to her husband, Helene is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Lucy Hughes, and Robert and Clare Shultis; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents and eight brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, September 25 at the Fishkill Baptist Church, 107 Route 82, Fishkill from 10am to 2pm. A service will be held at 2pm in the church.
