Henry J. Grosskamp, 78, a resident of LaGrangeville for 43 years, died peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2010, at his son's home in Marietta, GA.

Born on February 14, 1932, in New York City, he was the son of the late Johann and Anna Niedermayr Grosskamp. Henry spent his early years in Carmel and Mahopac, and at the age of 19 he began a 40-year-long career as an engineer for IBM. On October 21, 1961, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac, Henry married Rosemarie Franz, who predeceased him on April 29, 2007. He attended Mass at St. Denis, St. Columba, and Blessed Kateri Churches.

Henry is survived by his children, Peter Grosskamp and his wife Amy of Marietta, GA, and Heidi Crean and her husband Dennis of Redwood Valley, CA; his grandchildren, Christopher and Emily Grosskamp; and his stepsister, Loretto von Buehren of Delhi.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 18, from 2 to 5, at the McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 19, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
