Obituary

Herman Schlosberg, a resident of the Town of Fishkill, died at home on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. He was 98.
Born in Canada on March 12, 1913, he was the son of the late Julius and Edith Cohen Schlosberg. He later moved to Westchester County and lived in Mount Vernon and Hastings-on-Hudson before moving to Dutchess County in 2002.
In 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945. For many years, he owned and operated a dry cleaning & deli business in Yonkers. Herman was always proud to embrace his Jewish faith, and his hobbies included bowling & playing cards. An avid outdoorsman, he loved nature and owned property in the Catskills.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Murielle Kahn Schlosberg, at home; his daughter, Melinda Valentine; his grandchildren, Keith, Olivia, and Richard Kulsha; and his great-granddaughter, Kalena Kulsha.
In accordance with his faith, Herman was buried in the Congregational Brothers of Israel section at Sharon Gardens Cemetery in Valhalla.
