WAPPINGERS FALLS – Surrounded by family, Hilda Ojeda, 95, passed away on June 27, 2024 at Putnam Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on September 30, 1928 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, Hilda was the daughter of the late Francisco and Estel (Sosa) Lozada. She was a talented seamstress in New York City and enjoyed the creative process of clothing design. She was an amazing mother and grandmother to her family and made sure to share her wisdom and pass down generational lessons.
Hilda is survived by her children, Rene Ojeda, Lucy Ojeda, and Hilda Santiago and her husband Hector; her grandchildren, Alberto, Amanda, David, Celeste, Joey, Manny, Lucia, and Veronica; her great-grandchildren, Arirose, Janiya, Briana, Christopher, Anthony, Raymond, Camrin, Tristan, Kareem, Michael, Lucy, Serenity, Joseph, Clarity, and Christian; her cousins, Diana, Anna and Dr. Thomas Koutelos; her Goddaughter, Esther; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Hilda was predeceased by her husband, Rene Ojeda, in 1974.
Visitation will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Friday, July 5th from 10am – 12 pm with a funeral service beginning at 12 pm. Burial will take place at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
