Homi Gustadji Sarkary, a longtime resident of Hopewell Junction, NY, passed away on February 16, 2022. He was 86.

Homi was born in India on October 19, 1935, the son of Gustadji and Tehmina Sarkary.

On April 1, 1968, Homi married his loving wife Gul and moved to Hopewell Junction in 1970. She survives at home.

He had attended Osmania University in India and West Virginia University where he obtained his master's degree.

For 30 years, Homi worked for IBM in East Fishkill, NY as an Engineer, retiring in 1993. He can be accredited to numerous inventions and patents. Some of his hobbies included tennis and cricket.

Homi was a member of the Darbe Mehr Zoroastrian Temple in Suffern, NY.

In addition to his wife Gul, Homi is survived by his children Xerxes and his wife Jerilyn Sarkary of Austin, TX, Zubin and his wife Chetna of San Jose, CA; granchildren Darius Sarkary of Seattle, WA, Cyrus Sarkary of Austin, TX and Karina Sarkary of San Jose, CA; and his sister Farida Khambatta and her husband Sarosh of Orland Park, IL.

Homi is predeceased by his parents Gustadji and Tehmina Sarkary.

Calling hours will be Friday, February 18, 2022, from 1130am-130pm at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY.

After the funeral, please feel free to join the family at Tamarind Restaurant in Wappingers Falls (1659 Route 9) for light food and beverage.
