Honoria Torres, 85, passed away on May 13, 2017 at Mount Sinai in New York City.

Born in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico on September 30, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ramón and Carmen (Figueroa) Torres. As a single mother, she worked full time as a seamstress in Manhattan while she independently raised her children. Her family and friends will be remember her for her love of life, and always having fun.

Honoria is survived by her daughter, Millie Suarez of Fishkill; her son, Eddie Suarez of the Bronx; her grandchildren, Christina Johnson of Fishkill, Lisa Geer of Poughkeepsie, Michael and Adrienne Lasagna of Highland, and Victoria Suarez of Florida; her great-grandchildren, Ava and Ella Geer; and her sisters, Monin Torres Figueroa, Lucy and Wilson Matos, Jenny and Rene Romero, and Olga and Ray Arroyo. She was also predeceased by 2 sisters and 5 brothers.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 10 am – 12pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 12pm followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
