Ida A. Lipinski, 92, died on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Ida lived in Queens Village for 42 years, from the time she got married and raised her children until 1989 when she moved to Dutchess County with her husband, John.
Born in the Bronx on October 22, 1919, she was the daughter of Goffred and Maria (Marino) Aquilino. On June 1, 1947 in Brooklyn, she married John Lipinski who predeceased her on December 6, 2003.
Ida was a parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Civil Defense Volunteer. She also loved crafts.
She is survived by her children, Paul Lipinski and his wife Marie of Poughkeepsie, Robert Lipinski and his wife Kathy of Nesconset, and Betty Kristan and her husband Bob of Westborough, MA; her brother, Vincent Aquilino of Lynbrook; her sister, Eleanor Savarese of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Ida was predeceased by Al Aquilino, Frank Aquilino, Carl Aquilino, Gennaro Aquilino, and Mary Gerrity.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
