EAST FISHKILL - Ilidio Fernandes, 86, died on January 3, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital.

Born in Portugal on March 10, 1932, he was the son of Eduardo Fernandes Marques and Silvaninha Maria Augusta. On December 5, 1954, Ilidio married Maria Augusta Tavares in Portugal. Mr. Fernandes worked on the assembly line for General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 1996.

Ilidio is survived by his wife, Maria Augusta Tavares, and his children and their spouses: Oscar and Maria Fernandes of East Fishkill, Albert and Anna Fernandes of Union Vale, Rui Levi Fernandes of Portugal, and Maria and Joe Rappa of Danbury, CT. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; his sister, Maria Tavares of Portugal; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 – 7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Jct., NY 12533. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 pm in the Funeral Home.
