Irene M. Farrisi, 85, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1999 and formerly of Nashua, NH, Garrison, Yorktown Heights and Yonkers, died on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in the Bronx on March 13, 1928, she was the daughter of John and Mary Huchko Pollard. Irene was employed as a secretary and customer service representative for Kemet Electronics in Elmsford. She then worked as a bartender at Gino’s Café in Fishkill until her retirement in 2007. She was a parishioner of St. Columba Church, Hopewell Junction.
On July 2, 1950 in Mount Vernon , Irene married Melville P. Farrisi who died on April 25, 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Christine Farrisi of Hopewell Junction; her companion, Jerry Rocco; her nieces and nephews, Laura, Alyson, Tony, Mel, Jean, Mary, Christopher, Danielle, Jimmy Jr., Andy, Michael and Vinny; her lifetime friend, Lynn Leone; and her sisters-in-law, Georgette Pollard and Deborah Farrisi. She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Crawford; her brother, James Pollard; and her nephew, Rich.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
