Irene Tompkins' Obituary
POUGHKEEPSIE- Irene V. Tompkins, 79, a lifelong area resident, died on January 17, 2023 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.
She as born in Stormville, NY on January 15, 1944 and was the daughter of Victor and Grace (Williams) Tompkins. She was raised by her Aunt and Uncle, Winona (Tompkins) and Herbert Ahlf, along with their daughter Marietta (Ahlf) Miller.
She enjoyed collecting antiques and vintage jewelry, and walks along the paths at Locust Grove when all the beautiful flowers were in bloom. Irene was a kind and beautiful soul, who loved to laugh and joke. She had a caring heart and would not think twice about lending a helping hand, and her time, to those who needed it. She will be missed dearly by those who were close to her.
Irene is survived by her domestic partner, Daniel Brink, and her brothers, Earl, Franklin, Howard, Lee, and her sister, Lillian Wallace. She was predeceased by her brothers, Lee, Raymond, Richard, and Victor Tompkins, and her sister Edna Whitford.
Services will be private with interment in the family plot in Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt, NY.
