Ivan J. Yizar, 53, a resident of Wappingers Falls for the past 13 years, previously of Port Chester, died on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born on January 6, 1958, he was the son of James and Romona Morris Yizar. On February 21, 1987, Ivan married Albertree Ledbetter in Port Chester. Mrs. Yizar survives at home.
Ivan was a Woodworker for Haggarty Millwork in Poughkeepsie and previously worked for Nautic Interiors in Long Island City. He was a member of The Trumpetaires and Moments of Praise and Joy, local Gospel singing groups.
In addition to his wife, Ivan is survived by his children, Ivan Jr. of Brooklyn, Thomas of Wappingers Falls, Jerel of Wappingers Falls, and Romona of Wappingers Falls; his cousin, Dee Bryant, his wife and two children of Yonkers; and his 3 sisters.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 10:30 am – 11:30 am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by the Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. officiated by the Reverend Smith. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye.
