Obituary

James A. Brouthers, 95, a lifelong area resident, died on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Wappingers Falls on December 19, 1919, he was the son of James and Edna Horton Brouthers. James proudly served our country in the US Army during World War II and was employed in Supply and Demand at IBM in East Fishkill and Poughkeepsie. He was a member of the New Hackensack Reformed Church and the Hughsonville Fire Department. An avid camper, he was a member of many different camping clubs.
On March 12, 1945 at the New Hackensack Reformed Church, James married the love of his life, Clara L. Denney, who predeceased him on September 19, 2006.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 10am at the funeral home with Rev. Keith Tamlyn officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hackensack Cemetery with military honors.
