HOPEWELL JUNCTION – James J. Burns, 59, an area resident since 2003, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He previously lived in Queens.
Born in the Bronx on February 15, 1956, he was the son of the late James J. and Lillian F. (Erler) Burns. He had been employed as a driver for Williams Lumber and Home Centers in Hopewell Junction. An avid hunter, Jim also enjoyed riding his Harley and listening to music.
Jim is survived by his siblings, Candace Sullivan and her husband Donald, Robin Bunting and her husband David, Frank Burns and his wife Edna, Kathy Wright, Lynn Burns, and Fran Burns and her fiancé Guy; his nieces and nephews, Christine and her husband Todd, Janine, Stacie and her husband Richard, Don and his wife Joanna, Jamie, Shannon, Jessica, Frank and his wife Alisha, Maurice, Hannah, Pauline, Ken-J, Amy, Elizabeth and her husband Kevin, and Emily; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister, Jenny.
