James Burns' Obituary
James J. Burns, 71, (Joe), a resident of LaGrangeville, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Yonkers on June 28, 1941, he was the son of Lawrence and Nora Kelly Burns. He proudly served our country in the US Army. He raised his children in Stormville and then, following his retirement, spent time in the Catskills, Myrtle Beach and Florida. He recently moved back to the area and was renovating his new home.
Joe is survived by his son and his wife, Joseph and Bridget Burns of Dover Plains; his grandchildren, Molly, Brendan and Emily Burns; his daughter and her husband, Maureen and John Doherty of Stormville; his former wife, Jo Ann Burns of Stormville; his sisters, Jean Antash of Yonkers and Theresa Bower of Maryland; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jack and Bill Burns; and his sister, Hilda Sexton.
