James Denis Carroll Sr. passed away on December 4, 2024, at the age of 85. He was born in NY, NY, on June 7, 1939, to the late William and Mary (O'Donnell) Carroll. On September 14, 1963, he married the love of his life, Susan (Curley) Carroll. They were married for 58 years until her death in May 2022.

James proudly served our country in the United States Army. Following his service, he worked for Con Edison for 32 years, starting in a manhole and rising through multiple promotions to retire as a manager. James was very proud of his career and had been enjoying his retirement since age 55. He was deeply religious and devoted to the Catholic Church. James was honored to be a Eucharistic Minister and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the Saint Vincent de Paul Society.

James enjoyed the life his beloved wife arranged for him. They loved family, friends, golf, and their pets. James was a passionate fan of the NY Giants and Notre Dame football. He was proud of his Irish heritage.

James is survived by his children Kathleen Hannon and her husband Brian of North Carolina; James Carroll and his wife Darya of New Hamburg, NY; William Carroll and his wife Nicole of Cold Spring, NY, and Michael Carroll of San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren Colleen, Courtney, James III, Shane, Riley, Jonathan, Kristen, Madeline, and Amelia; and his great-grandchildren: Emma, Easton, Eli, and Adalynn.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 3 to 5 p.m., with a funeral service at 4:30 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main St., Fishkill, NY.
