James P. Doherty, 71, a resident of Stormville since 1977 and formerly of Yonkers, died on April 23, 2020 at his home.

Born in New York City on August 12, 1948, he was the son of Daniel and Mary (Scollan) Doherty. James proudly served our country in the US Army and had worked as a Supervisor for Con Edison, most recently in Briarcliff. He was a parishioner of St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel.

On September 7, 1974 in Bronxville, James married Mary Martin who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters, Jennifer Doherty and Lauren Forbes and her husband Steve; his grandsons, James and William Forbes; and his siblings and their spouses, Dan and Patricia Doherty, Beverly Doherty, Peggy and Ray Gonzalez, Tom and Anne Doherty, John Doherty, Mary and Dan Failla; and many nieces and nephews.

Private interment was held at St. Denis Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
