Obituary

BEEKMAN – James E. Duncan, 80, a resident of Poughquag for 15 years and formerly of Queens, died on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.
Born on January 5, 1930 in Queens, he was the son of Adam and Nellie Galvin Duncan. He was employed as a Customs House Broker for Neils & O'Connell Customs House at John F. Kennedy Airport for 45 years until his retirement in 1995. He also bred horses for over 30 years. James was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

On June 28, 1962 at St. Denis Church, James married Georgia Cardinale who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, James Michael Duncan and his wife Lisa of Foxboro, MA; his grandchildren, Kevin, Katie and Brian Duncan; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
