James A. Filardi , 60, of Lagrangeville , NY, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on September 26, 2025, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on July 30, 1965, in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Louis Filardi Sr. and Marie (Cartica) Filardi. After years of working in the auto industry, Jim was most recently the proud owner of Atlas Appliance Repair in Lagrangeville, where he dedicated his time to building the business from the ground up.

A true outdoorsman , James found joy in hunting, fishing, training beagles, and competition shooting. He loved entertaining family and friends, and his outgoing personality, heart of gold, and deep love for his family will forever be remembered by all who knew him.

James is survived by his devoted wife, Tammy (Hogancamp) Filardi; his children, Michael Filardi and wife Danielle, Tyler Guerriere and wife Morgan, and Francesca Filardi; and his beloved grandchildren, Giulianna, Sofia, Sienna, Atlas, Evelyn, and Anthony. He is also survived by his mother, Marie Filardi; his sister, Christine Sette and husband Cosmo; his mother-in-law, Beverly Hogancamp; his sister-in-law, Donna Hogencamp; his brother-in-law, Donny Hogancamp and wife Rhonda; his sister-in-law, Bambi Valentia and husband Mike; and several nieces and nephews, including Alex, Nicholas, Nicole, Megan, Tim, Matthew, Julia, Louis, Lauren, and Nicholas.

Along with his immediate family, James leaves behind his cousin Sal, as well as countless other cousins and dear friends who became family throughout his life.

He was predeceased by his father, Louis Filardi Sr.; his brothers, Louis Filardi Jr. and Michael Filardi; and his father-in-law, Donald Hogancamp.

James will be remembered for his love of life, his generosity, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 3-8 p.m. at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Lagrangeville Cemetery.
