Hopewell Junction- James "Jimi" Genovese a resident of Hopewell Junction, NY passed away on June 30, 2024, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 63 years old.

Jimi was born on May 26, 1961, in Yonkers, NY.

While working throughout various group homes as a caretaker, Jimi met the love of his life Lynda Mason-Genovese who survives at home.

Over the years in addition to working in the group homes, Jimi also worked at the DMV in Peekskill, NY and last worked as a dispatcher for Bottini Fuel in Wappingers Falls, NY.

Jimi loved music. In his younger years, he played in the band Axeminster and later in Freak Switch. He played the piano, and self-taught himself the electric violin, guitar and the stick.

In addition to his wife Lynda, Jimi is survived by his loving mother Margaret "Peggy" Genovese, his daughter Ariel Ellis, 11 grandchildren: Lilly, Noah, Bella, Gwenna, Juliet, Chance, Maggie, Jack, Meadow, Henry and Willow. He is also survived by his sister Cathy Genovese and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousinsI
