James Michael Hogan ("Jim")
August 7, 1947 - October 25, 2026
James Michael Hogan, fondly known as "Jim", passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026, at the age of 79, with his beloved wife by his side. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and proud American veteran, Jim was defined above all by his unwavering love for his family, his deep faith, and his country.
Born in Glen Head, NY, on August 7, 1947, Jim spent his early years living in Glen Head, Decatur, GA, and Ardsley, NY. He graduated from Ardsley High School in 1965 and proudly answered the call to serve in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968 in Vietnam.
On May 28, 1972, Jim married the love of his life, Rosemary (Kovac) Hogan. They initially made their home in Dobbs Ferry, NY, before settling in Wappingers Falls in 1978, where they built a wonderful life together. Jim was the most devoted husband, and throughout their 54 years of marriage, the two were rarely ever seen apart.
Jim worked for many years as a splicer for Verizon in Port Chester, NY, retiring in 2007. Never one to sit idle, he continued to give back to his community during retirement by driving for the Dutchess County Office for the Aging.
A devout Catholic, Jim shared his deep love for Jesus with his son and grandchildren, leaving them a lasting foundation of faith. He was a steady, supportive presence in his family's lives-whether serving as a pack leader for the Cub Scouts, managing his son Jamie's baseball team, or faithfully attending his grandchildren's swim meets, baseball and softball games over the years.
Jim was a lifelong, devoted fan of the New York Mets and New York Jets, a passion he lovingly passed down to his son. He also cherished simple pleasures, especially trips to Wildwood Crest, NJ, where he spent countless happy hours searching for seashells along the beach alongside his grandchildren. Following a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease, Jim spent his final year receiving compassionate care at the Castle Point VA.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary; his son, Jamie Hogan, and daughter-in-law, Michelle Hogan; his cherished grandchildren, Bridget Hogan, James Hogan, and Allyson Hogan; his brother, Peter Hogan; his sisters, Noreen (Hogan) Connelly, Mary (Hogan) Rijos, and Nancy (Hogan) Grover; as well as many loving in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. Hogan and Irene (O'Brien) Hogan; his brothers, John Hogan and Danny Hogan; and his sister, Kate Hogan.
