Hopewell Junction- James D. Callahan, Jr. a resident of Hopewell Junction, NY passed away at home on July 26, 2023. He was 84 years old.

James or Dennis to those that knew him, was born in Bronx, NY on December 23, 1938, the son of James and Teresa (Casatelli) Callahan Sr.

Dennis began his career in home furnishings, owning several stores of his own in the local area. Dennis then entered the corporate world working for, and eventually retiring from, Ethan Allen Furniture in Danbury, CT as a District Manager.

James was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan. He loved to take care of his lawn, but more than anything he loved his family and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara and his children; James Callahan III and his companion Patti, Brian and his companion Sylvia, Sean and his companion Patricia, Christopher and his companion Michelle, and Kara and her husband Thomas. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his cousins Stephanie, Philp, and Kenneth.

James is predeceased by his parents and his Aunt Mary Merlo.
