James L. Mandola, 69, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1976 and formerly of Mount Vernon, died on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Mount Vernon on July 28, 1945, he was the son of Ralph and Anna Murinelli Mandola. Jim had been employed as the dairy manager for Gristedes Market for many years, and more recently at Stop & Shop in Wappingers Falls. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction and was often seen at the gym at the Town of East Fishkill Recreation Center.

On October 12, 1975 in Mount Vernon, Jim married Adriana Veltri who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, James R. Mandola and his girlfriend Annie Frenzel; his sisters, Theresa Rumsey of Albany and Mary Ann Milo of Pleasantville; his brothers, Patsy Mandola of Wappingers Falls and Ralph Mandola of Myrtle Beach, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 – 9 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 am at St. Kateri Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
