WAPPINGERS FALLS - James A. Nico, a local area resident since 2003, formerly of Rumson, NJ, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Grand Rehabilitation & Nursing Facility in Pawling. He was 81. Son of the late Adelgonti and Carmela (Mattia) Nico, he was born in Brooklyn on September 12, 1941. In 1960, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served one year of active duty prior to joining the National Guard. James graduated from Pace University. He had a long and successful career with Caribbean Transportation Services (Greensboro, NC). In 2013, he retired as Vice President of Sales for the company's Life Sciences Division. On November 9, 1991, he married Patricia Kowski in Brooklyn. Patricia survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Additional survivors include his son, Christopher S. Nico & his wife Georgina of Wyckoff, NJ; his stepdaughter, Ann-Marie Sabrsula of Danbury, CT; and his grandchildren, Anthony, Jacqueline, Katherine, and Daniel.
