TITUSVILLE, FL – James Philip Rock, 77, a resident of Titusville, FL for 30 years and previously of Wappingers Falls, died on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Vista Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Florida.

Born in Plattsburg on April 6, 1936, he was the son of the late Alfred and Catherine (Keenan) Rock. On July 7, 1954, he married Mollie Ann Gorman who survives at home. James was employed as a Corrections Officer for the State of New York in Bedford for 25 years until his retirement in 1981.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, James is survived by his children, Karin Marshall and her husband Robert of Lake Mary, FL, Philip Rock of Poughkeepsie, Cherie Rock of Titusville, FL, Debi Kennedy and her husband Raymond of East Durham, Susan Harrah and her husband Bruce, Sandy Stephenson of Titusville, FL, and James F. Rock of Morrisonville; his brother, Robert Rock of Morrisonville; 21 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul Rock, and his grandchildren, Philip James "PJ" Rock and Jonathan Kennedy.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the funeral home followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery, 604 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction.
