James J. Vitale

James J. Vitale, a beloved son, brother and uncle, passed away on October 5th, 2026 at 68 years old.

James was born on April 7th, 1958 and grew up in Pleasantville, NY and resided in Fishkill, NY for many years. James was predeceased by his mother, Constance M. Vitale, father, Salvatore J. Vitale, and brother, Samuel J. Vitale. James leaves behind his sister, Brenda M. Melendez, and brother, Edward J. Vitale. James also leaves behind his nephews, Raphael Melendez, Alex Melendez, Edward Vitale, Stephen Vitale, and Benjamin Vitale, along with his niece, Miya Vitale.

James was known for his faith and love for his family and the church and for being a lover of all animals. He showed his love for animals by making regular donations to the SPCA. He was also known for his dedication to his profession, sports, exercise, and above all, his kind heart and generosity. James warmed the hearts of everyone he encountered and was a selfless, one-of-a-kind human being. May his spirit live on through us all.

Calling hours will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 13th at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A memorial service will begin at 7:30pm. Interment will take place at 11:30am on Wednesday, October 14th at Kensico Cemetery, 273 Lakeview Ave, Valhalla, NY.
