MOORESVILLE, NC - Jane Lown Cronin, 77, of Mooresville, North Carolina and a former resident of Hopewell Junction, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Serenity House in Mooresville.
She was born on August 10, 1933, in Sharon, Connecticut to the late George and Mary Partington Lown. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville. Mrs. Cronin served in the Women's Army Corps where she met her husband of 55 years. She and her husband loved to play golf together. When Jane wasn't playing golf, she would be on the computer chatting with her friends. She was an avid cook and baker. She also bowled in the Mixed League at Fishkill Bowl.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Cronin is survived by her husband of 55 years, George Michael Cronin; her three children, Michael Cronin and wife Patricia of Syracuse, Michele A. Cronin of Hopewell Junction, Patrick Cronin and wife Jacquelyn of Hopewell Junction; a sister, Lillian Caruso of Mooresville, NC; and a brother, Edwin Lown and wife Minnie of Hopewell Junction. She was the beloved Grammy to 9 grandchildren, Michael and Sean Cronin, Nicholas and Lydia Hughes, Jennifer, Jake, Garrett, Mackenzie, and Morgan Cronin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 14 from 7 to 9 pm at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 15 at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
