Jane Theresa Velie

Jane T. Velie, a resident of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, at Hudson Valley Hospice House. She was 59 years old.

Born in the Bronx, NY, on June 26, 1967, Jane was the daughter of the late Genaro and Frances (Daily) Monaco.

Jane was a kind-hearted and gentle woman who found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved all things Disney and could often be found listening to her favorite music, coloring, or enjoying classic cartoons. Her warm spirit, quiet nature, and appreciation for the little joys in life brought comfort to those who knew and loved her.

Jane's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Megan Velie (Alex Smith); her brother, Gerald Monaco; her sister, Maureen Monaco; and several loving nieces and nephews, all of whom will cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents Gerry and Frances Monaco, Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband, David Velie and her brother Paul Monaco

Memorial donations may be made in Jane's memory to Hudson Valley Hospice or to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Though Jane lived a quiet life, the love she shared and the happiness she found in simple moments will leave a lasting impression on those who knew her. Her memory will forever be carried in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed.
