HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Janet B. Nawyn, 93, an area resident since 1963, died on January 20, 2025 at MidHudson Regional Hospital. She previously lived in New Jersey.

Born on March 9, 1931 in Patterson, NJ, Janet was the daughter of the late Roy and Betty (Harrison) Legg. On April 5, 1952, she married Walter Nawyn who predeceased her on June 21, 1998.

Janet is survived by her children, Carol Raymond and her husband Craig of Binghamton, Lori Nevins of Poughkeepsie, and David Nawyn and his girlfriend Juliete Van Houten of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Scott and Nicole Raymond, Erin and Eli Clark, Brian Nevins, Taylor Nevins, and Sarah and Rafael Tavera; her 15 great-grandchildren; her niece, Barbara Mainey and her husband Bert; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Janet was also predeceased by her sister, Betty Doyle and her husband Charles.

A funeral service will be at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, January 23rd at 11 am followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
