Jared Sebastian Hosch-Torres, "Jerry," was a living testimony of the grace of God. He was miraculously healed from a life threatening illness at the age of five and that healing changed the trajectory of our entire family's life. From that moment forward, our family served God with all of our hearts. It was our true commitment to make sure that everyone knew God the way we did. Jared was a walking testimony of God's faithfulness, grace, love, kindness, selflessness and humility. He was kind at the core with a pure heart and a true example of a leader in the most humble way.

He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends. He was proud to be a son, a brother, a grandson, a boyfriend, an uncle and a true friend. Jared inherited his father's playfulness and wicked sense of humor. He had a knack for driving you crazy but it was impossible not to smile and love him for it. Everywhere you went, from childhood to adulthood, the one name you would always hear loud and clear was "Jared…Jared…Jared…Jared…Jared!."

On January 31, 2023, ten of Jared's closest friends tattooed the words: "Love you to the end of this world Jerry 5.10.2000-1.29.2023 on their arms. This was the purest reflection of the profound impact and legacy that he left on the lives of all the people he touched.

The greatest way that we can honor Jared's life is to live, to be present, to love, to laugh, and to have faith.

A word from the heart of God: "Unimaginable." There are times when the unimaginable crosses your path. It's in those moments that we have to seek God for the unimaginable. There are moments that words just can't touch both good and bad. Today, I am reminded of the grace of God which is divinely unimaginable and too powerful for words. "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might." Ephesians 6:10. It is in His might where we find true strength. It is in Him where glorious unimaginable things live. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 2:45 pm prompt at Valley Christian Church - 1072 NY-82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in honor of Jared and Rafael to Milena Ortiz, the 16 month old daughter and niece of these two profoundly wonderful men. A life fund will be set up for Milena so that a special gift can be purchased on behalf of her father and uncle for birthdays and special occasions for the rest of her life.
