Jason Michael Varian, 36, a resident of Poughkeepsie and previously of Wappingers, died on November 1, 2018 at home.

Born on November 4, 1981 in Yonkers, Jason was the son of Arthur and Ellen (Francis) Varian.

Jason was the co-owner and operator of Xtrachange in Beekman for 3 years. He proudly served our country in the United States Army from 2002 – 2009 during the Global War on Terrorism in Iraq. Jason was known for his sweet tooth and love of fishing with his dad, eBay, horror movies and especially his dog, Lucille.

Jason is survived by his mother, Ellen Varian of Poughkeepsie; his father, Arthur Varian and his wife Barbara of Putnam Lake; his grandmother, Anna Marie Francis; his fiancé, Michelle Horan of Poughkeepsie; his siblings, Tom Varian of Poughkeepsie, and Michelle Kalyn Burdick of Putnam Valley; his stepdaughter, Sydney Horan; his nieces, Teagen Varian and Isla Mae Burdick; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jason was anxiously looking forward to the arrival of his baby daughter, Jillian Varian.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-8pm at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 10am at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill.
