Obituary

WAPPINGERS FALLS – Jean C. Gremillot, 88, passed away on July 21, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. She previously lived in Beacon, NY since 2020 as well as Palm Springs, CA and the Bronx.

Born in Manhattan on July 24, 1935, Jean was the daughter of the late Carlo and Pasqualina (Cavallo) Smilovich. She had been employed as a secretary at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan until her retirement. Jean enjoyed playing tennis, reading and cooking. Jean and her husband Russ loved to travel and entertain friends and family.

On May 20, 1956, she married her loving husband, Russell D. Gremillot Sr. who predeceased her on February 4, 2024 after 67 years of marriage. Jean is survived by her children, Russell Gremillot Jr. of CA and Renee Gremillot and her husband William Birnbaum of NY; her grandchildren, Michael Birnbaum and Christine Birnbaum of NY; her sister, Barbara Rudolph and her husband William; and her nieces and nephews, Christopher and Abby, William Jr. and Courtney, Paul, Kenneth and Veronica; and her great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as Russell's nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Carole.

Funeral services will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a memorial service from 3:15 - 3:30 p.m.

Immediately following the funeral service, the family would like to invite guests to join them at Daddy-O's Restaurant, 3 Turner Street, Hopewell Junction.
