Jean M. Hudson, age 95, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 21, 2024. She was born on October 31, 1928 in Peekskill, NY to the late Lloyd and Beatrice (Conley) Fowler. On October 8, 1947, she married her loving husband Stanley Hudson. Stanley predeceased her in 2017.
For 30 years, Jean worked as an Office Worker for the NYS Dept of Corrections, before retiring from Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, NY. Stanley and Jean loved to go out dancing and were members of the Elks and Moose Clubs and also belonged to a square dancing club for many years. In 2008, they were recognized as King and Queen at the Dutchess County Office for the Aging's Annual "Senior Prom." Jean also loved her pets, bowling and getting together with friends for card games. She enjoyed cooking many holiday meals for her family. Jean will be remembered as a kind, patient and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children: Sandra Spurrier and her husband Dave, Patricia Amann and her husband Frank, and Gloria Hudson; her grandchildren: Amy Seger and her husband Tim, Andrew Geist, Luke Geist and his wife Lindsey, Frank Amann Jr. and his partner Sandy Black, Matthew Amann and his partner Melissa Simmons, and Jason Amann; her great-grandchildren: Chris, Ryan, Landon, Lilah, Jacque, Shelby, Madison, Hunter, Gavin, Caitlin and Wyatt; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. She was a surrogate grandmother to James, Michelle, and Renee Brady and Tanya Smiley.
In addition to her parents and husband Stanley Hudson, Jean was also predeceased by all of her siblings: Lloyd Fowler, Glynn Fowler, Genevieve Travis and Virginia Draiss.
Calling hours will be held on Monday February 26, 2024 from 4-7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main St. Fishkill. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday February 27, 2024 at 11 am, followed by entombment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
