Jean C. Lesko, a resident of Fishkill for more than 50 years, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. She was 78.
Daughter of the late Albert and Geraldine (Bladel) Brozowski, she was born on April 5, 1945 and grew up in Yonkers, NY.
Jean was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, where she was actively involved in many church programs and activities. She worked as a grocer for Stop and Shop in Poughkeepsie for more than 20 years. She was an avid reader and shopper through QVC. Jean was also an ardent sports fan and especially loved attending her family members' sporting events. More than anything else she truly cherished spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
On April 11, 1964, she married Robert J. Lesko at St. Casimir Church in Yonkers. Jean was predeceased by her husband on July 12, 2022.
Survivors include her son, Daniel Lesko & his wife Denise of Waxhaw, NC; her daughter, Jean-Marie Gillette & her husband David of Rhinebeck; her son, Robert Lesko of Hopewell Junction; her daughter, Susanne Lesko & Damian DeRenzis of Saratoga Springs; her daughter, Lori Ann Marvin & her husband Peter of Red Hook; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Deborah Williams & her husband Jeffrey of Wappingers Falls; and many other relatives & friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was also predeceased by her sister, Nancy Campion.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to those who have provided such extraordinary support such as the Kelly family, Susan Maglio, Carol & John Gilman, Joseph Maglio and her exceptional doctors and nurses at New York Presbyterian Hospital especially Sarah Engelhardt, RN.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 16 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. Following the visitation, a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY. Entombment will be held in the Community Mausoleum at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
