POUGHKEEPSIE – Jean Ring, 83, died on September 8, 2019 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Born in New York City on June 9, 1936, Jean was the daughter of the late Louis and Genevieve (Jockle) Ernst. She retired as consultant from the Archdiocese of New York Metropolitan Tribunal in 2004 where she was employed for 17 years in the Poughkeepsie office.

Jean is survived by her children and their spouses, Kathleen and Mark Dorney of Poughkeepsie and Timothy and Laura Ring of Florham Park, NJ; her grandchildren, Emily, Caroline, Timothy Jr., and Jack; and her dog, Molly.

Jean was a member of the Marist College Center for Lifetime Study (CLS). She enjoyed all animals especially dogs. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 10am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by entombment at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Perfect Pets Rescue, Inc.
