Jeanette M. Gelfand, 81, a three-year resident of Wappingers Falls and formerly of Mount Vernon, died at her home on Saturday, September 21, 2013.
Born on Long Island in the town of New Suffolk on August 30, 1932, she was the daughter of Albert and Mary Hoy Lein. She had been employed as a custodian for the Evans Elementary School in Mount Vernon until her retirement.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Arlene Cole and her husband John of Wappingers Falls; her daughter, Mary Ann Krebs of Boston, MA; her granddaughter, Jennifer Cole and her fiancé Patrick McMorris; and her sister, Catherine Sewalk of Ocala, FL. She was predeceased by her partner of 45 years, John Bianco; her brothers, Bob, Dennis, Vincent and Edward Lein; and her sister, Ann Lein.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 5th at 10 A.M., at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., Hopewell Junction.
