Jeanne F. Avezzano, 81, a resident of the Town of Beekman since 1968 and formerly of Yonkers, died on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Yonkers on April 6, 1930, she was the daughter of William and Mary Palmerton Peet. Jeanne was a parishioner of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction.
On October 7, 1948 in Yonkers, Jeanne married Thomas J. Avezzano who predeceased her on April 27, 1987. She is survived by her children, Jean Emerson and her husband Charles of Carmel, Carol Avezzano of Poughquag and Thomas Avezzano of LaGrangeville; her sister, Carol Epperson; her brothers, Frederick and Bill Peet; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
