Jeffrey A. Gisin passed away on June 13, 2022 at home in Poughkeepsie with his wife Stacey by his side after a 7-year battle with Prostate Cancer.
He was born on May 15, 1955 in Mount Vernon to his parents, Arthur and Joan Gisin.
He graduated in 1973 from Mount Vernon High School. From 1977 to 1983, he was a Police Officer/EMT with the Mount Vernon Police Department. In 1997 while working for Dutchess Express Taxi Co. in Poughkeepsie, he met his future wife Stacey who he married on June 20, 1998 on the anniversary of their first date. He passed away just one week shy of their 25th wedding anniversary. They enjoyed spending time together, especially with their granddaughters, Roxanne and Audrey.
Jeffrey enjoyed reading, history, and music, especially Motown which he loved to sing and dance to. He also sang in church choirs and in a senior singing group that traveled to nursing homes.
He had another battle in his life with drug and alcohol addition that came after a traumatic brain injury in an auto accident when he was on the police force. He was finally able to, one day at a time, overcome it and celebrated 14 years sober on March 7, 2008!
Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Stacey Gisin; stepson, Christopher Smith; granddaughters, Roxanne Smith and Audrianna Beck; his sister and brother-in-law, Lauren and Russell Kelly; his nephew, Jason Brubacher; and his stepbrother, Arthur Gisin, Jr. His brother, Larry, sadly passed away 9 days after Jeffrey. His wife, Nadine, and their two daughters, Jessica and Alison, and their new grandson, Cal, survive him.
A service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
