Obituary

Jennifer Oleszczuk, grew up in Hopewell Junction, and passed away on December 25, 2023. She was 47 years old.

Jennifer was born in Brooklyn on August 7, 1976. She is the daughter of Dennis and Margaret (Sydorko) Oleszczuk. She graduated from John Jay High School in East Fishkill, New York in 1994, and went on to graduate from Elon University in North Carolina in 1999. Jenn was a talented singer and majored in music, with a focus on classical singing.

In addition to her parents, Jennifer is survived by her children, Nathan and Morgan, and their father, Ryan; her brother, Rich, his wife, Deanna, and her niece and nephew, Kayley and Andrew. Jenn is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jennifer will be missed, not only for her smile that could light up a room, but for her infectious laugh and outgoing personality. Jenn was always down for some friendly competition with a game of cards, ping pong, or a variety of board games. Jenn was a skier, softball player, cantor and participated in the bell choir at local churches. She also shared her talent with the community by joining a local theater group.

Greater than her smile and big personality was her incredible singing voice. Jennifer was able to touch people's hearts in a way that only a true artist can. The clarity, control and strength of her voice had the power to move anyone to tears. Many remember Jennifer's amazing rendition of "I Will Always Love You," which she often sang at weddings for friends and family. This is a cherished memory for those lucky enough to have been present for one of these performances.

A visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 5th, at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction from 11:00am -1:30pm. There will be a brief service at the funeral home beginning at 1:30 pm followed by a graveside service at 2:30 pm in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
