Jerome J. Iorizzo, 94, a resident of Ludingtonville, NY for 52 years and formerly of Mt. Vernon, NY, died peacefully on May 16, 2012. Born in Tuckahoe, NY on March 21, 1918, he was son of late Alphonse Iorizzo of Avellino, Italy & Francesca Scuri of Bari, Italy. He graduated from Eastchester High School in 1937 and excelled in sports. He began his love of golf as a youth at Leewood Country Club where he caddied for Babe Ruth. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army during WW II in France. He was a graduate of Iona College and was employed at Texaco Corporation in Ossining, NY as a financial analyst & later as a personal injury claims adjustor in White Plains, NY. During his retirement, he remained an avid & excellent golfer. He loved his family, sports, Frank Sinatra & all things Italian. He was a man of keen insight, compassion and generosity. He will be greatly missed. He was predeceased by 4 siblings: Salvatore, Louise, Alphonse Jr., and Mary. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Corinna Tribuzi; 5 children: Gerald Iorizzo of Dove Canyon, CA, Lisa Lyon of Madison, CT, Greg Iorizzo of Hopewell Jct., NY, Gina Iorizzo of Port Ewen, NY & Marc Iorizzo of Lithia, FL; 6 grandchildren & 1 great-grandson.
